Judy Copeland (The StayInMay Short Film Fest Director and Naples’ own actor & film producer) brings the best new independent films and filmmakers to Naples for the 2019 StayInMay Festival.  Join us in discovering emerging talent and celebrating the cutting edge of cinematic story tellers.  All of the films screened have won prestigious awards and can only be seen at festivals---not available in theatres.  Throughout the three nights of the short film fest, Judy will bring filmmakers, actors, and producers to interact with the audience.  Join us in the comfort and intimacy of the Sheffield Theatre at Moorings Park for these remarkable films.

SUBTERRANEAN LOVE
Two lonely people, with personal baggage, on separate evenings out – on the same street in Greenwich Village, she with a friend, he alone, end up on the subway platform where an old Eastern European woman plays rueful accordion music (she becomes a muse/cupid). They get into the same subway car and from there surreptitiously observe each other and submerge themselves in romantic fantasies (black and white). They never speak and she, just before exiting the train, has one last ‘fantasy kiss’ on the train, ending their ‘romance.’ Haunting accordion music and subway imagery add a fine subtlety to the romance and mystery.

Baiting him with the hottest new videogame, Ophelia manages to get Tommy on the old family couch and claims her coveted prize. But, Tommy has more than a nice smile; he also has a big mouth.
